About the Oil City Civic Center
The Oil City Civic Center was formed to foster the arts, culture, education and socioeconomic improvement within the Oil Region, as well as preserve the historical integrity of the National Transit Building and Annex. The group supports other non-profits, social services organizations and cultural institutions in the area by offering them a central location at an affordable cost.
During the pandemic, the Oil City Civic Center nearly went defunct, but renewed efforts brought them back to life. In 2022, the Board was reorganized with five volunteer members committed to the organization and its mission. Today, the Oil City Civic Center is actively pursuing funding for continued rehabilitation of the National Transit Building and is working to sustain it for years to come.
